Online Therapy: Focused on You, Guided by Experience and Care
About me
Stella Flattery, MSW, BSocSc.
Hello, I'm Stella Flattery, a Registered Clinical Social Worker and EMDR therapist.
I earned my Master in Social Work from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, and my Bachelor in Social Science from University College Cork, Ireland. I have been a registered and practicing mental health clinician since 2017.
With a global perspective, I've worked across countries like Indonesia, Thailand, Ireland, and Greece. Prior to private practice, I’ve worked in CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services), an international Addiction & Trauma Treatment Centre, and with NGOs that serve refugees and victims of domestic abuse. I am deeply passionate about helping those who have experienced trauma or adversity, with a special focus on adapting treatments to individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Trained in various therapeutic modalities, I always prioritize using the most suitable methods for you. I offer EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy).
I have experience in addressing a wide range of concerns, such as complex trauma, anxiety, depression, dissociative disorders, low self-esteem, eating issues, addiction, PTSD, attachment difficulties, relationship issues, self-harm, and childhood trauma.
My approach
As your therapist, my goal is to create an empathetic and non-judgmental environment where open expression is encouraged. I tailor my therapeutic approach to suit your individual needs, collaborating with you to gain insight into the root causes of issues and develop a personalized treatment plan.
Having experienced both clinician and client perspectives, I recognize the challenges of personal growth and strive to foster a safe, supportive atmosphere.
My therapeutic approach integrates social work principles, emphasizing the importance of social context and individual resilience. I understand the complex interplay between personal experiences, relationships, personal history, and societal factors that influence one's well-being.
Emphasizing active collaboration and empowerment, we'll work together to access your inner resources and facilitate healing. I am dedicated to helping you overcome trauma or adversity and achieve meaningful change. Together, we'll work towards your goals and personal transformation.
